12 Layer Rigid Flex PCB with Dupont AP9141R material used in machine vision products
The flex layer copper thickness 1oz, whick is rarely used in the rigid flex pcb application, as the 1oz copper bending perfermance is poor comparied to the regular Hoz or 1/3oz. But in this application it's not a concern and the flex PCB part is just bending in the installation process, not dynamic bending, and there is big current on the circuits, so the 1oz on FPC Layer is a must. and we design the stackup as following

In order to make sure the high reliability we disgard the typical no-flow Prepreg solution for regular Rigid Flex PCB application, while we apply a innovative technology using flow Prepreg ensure the excellent bonding strength for FPC layers, of course, the cost has been increased some, as the there're extra processes required comparied to the regular no-flow Prepreg solution.
Now the customer has finished the test, the feedback is very good.
Even more there're some special cases requiring 2oz copper on the FPC part, we also have solution for that.
